I wouldn't worry about the main road (Red Squirrel) being plowed. If you take a look at the topos of the area, you will discover about a thousand side trails off of the main track. The campsite I use at Thieving Bear Lake (N47 10.338/W79 49.901) and Tyndall Lake (N47 11.266/W79 56.070) would be a good starting point for your adventures. The first site is about 6km in from 11 and the second is about 16km in. There are numerous other campsites along the road (you'll know them when you see them).
