Sorry folks, I have not been keeping an eye on the forum and this has only just come to my attention.

There is strong case to be made for winter wheeling. The ground is hard and as a result the opportunity for damage to trail minimized. However, snowmobile guys rely on their snow base not being screwed up or ridge compacted by vehicle traffic. The best way forward with this is to find some specifc trails that we know are not groomed and used by snowmobile crowd.

I am attending an Off Road Vehicle Initiative meeting in Haliburton at the end of this month. The list of attendees includes the local sled and ATV clubs. I will raise winter wheeling as an agenda item. Let's see if we can identify some trails get agreement on a plan for this Winter. Consulting with sled guys and having them on board with our plan is key.

For now, please consider trails closed as of Dec 1st until further notice.
