Hi All, I'm new to the forum today and thought I'd post some pics of my toy. My ride is an '82 Pinzgauer 712. It is shift-on-the-fly 2 or 6 wheel drive with a sealed torque tube drive train, selectable front and rear lockers and portal axles giving it around 15" of ground clearance. Its powered by a 2 litre 4 cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine with twin carbs and a 2 speed transfer case. I just recently installed some new 33" Dick Cepek Mud Country's and also hope to soon mount my new 9.5 Talon Superwinch to finish it off for this year. Before anyone asks, no it doesn't float…LOL. If anyone does have any questions don't hesitate to ask as I love talking trucks.
The torque tube is a roughly 6" tube running the length of the truck that connects the tranny to the front diff and in this case the 2 rear diffs as well. Inside the tube is the driveshaft so that it is not exposed to possible damage. The only exposed driveshaft on the vehicle is the a short shaft connecting the transfer case – roughly 24". I attached a pic so people can get a better idea.

Awesome.
I bet fluid changes cost a few bucks once you get that much diff and trans fluid.
