The Rusty Bat Trail Run – July 29

Description:
The Rusty Bat trail is a favorite EOTB trail located about an hour west of Ottawa.  This is a fun little trail with a spectacular view overlooking the Wabun lake and the Norcan lake with lots of rocky obstacles.  The Rusty Bat trail follows the Madawaska River into Wabun Lake. The trail head is located about an hour and a half west of Ottawa. The trail criss-crosses the power line with a few rock climbing opportunities, all with go-arounds. Climbing a long rocky hill, the trail climbs to a peak under the hydro line which offers a scenic view of the lake and river. This is a nice place to stop for lunch before turning around.

Primary Meeting Location: 9:30 am
Secondary Meeting Location: 10:30 am (approximate)

Requirements
Tow Points are mandatory for this trail.
Aggressive mud or A/T tires required.

Gas
Please come to the meeting location fully fueled and ready to roll. Fuel is available at Munford’s for those coming from a distance.

Non-Members
Non-Members are welcome. Please bring cash or cheque for the $15.00 insurance fee. This is an annual fee that is credited to your $50.00 membership fee if you join. Please bring exact change.

CB Radios
Please tune your CB to channel 4. No CB? Bring your FRS radio tuned to channel 4.

Reminders
Remember to bring a lunch, plenty of water, boots, cameras and your sense of adventure. It is also recommended that you carry a tow strap and some shackles as basic extraction equipment.
