Shocking news from the Parry Sound Camp of the Deaf

I am absolutely shocked that someone could think putting young lives at risk is an acceptable way to further their cause. I'm wondering if any of our members have a spare trail cam they may be able to loan the Camp of the Deaf in case these cowards try this again?

Amongst all the other great camping activities they offer, they have partnered with Yamaha to offer a offroad training facility giving kids a chance to learn how to safely ride bikes and atv's. They were also the gracious hosts of many motorsport events such as the Ontario Rock Crawl Challenge and Rally.

Some one dumps close to 3 lbs of mixed roofing nails, 2 inch spiral and 2 inch screws on Camp of the Deaf driveway only (scatter of nails starts and abruptly stops only on the 2 camp entrances – no where else on Blackstone Crane Lake Road) . After 7 nails and or screws that we know of in tires of Deaf Camp people, over a period of 3 weeks, my daughter when walking home on a whim from the bus stop instead of me picking her up, walks past the camp driveway and later tells me "hey mom, there are a lot of nails along the camp driveway"

these pics are halfway through our first day of picking them up. 4 more times make up approx 3 lbs. Finally, Rumball digs up the gravel and replaces it to be sure.

what can i say about whoever did this…they put 100's of people's lives at risk as we had not just our staff and friends but busloads and vanloads of children and youth and adults coming to camp every week-end for retreats…who knows how many other people had nails and flats that we don't even know about.

This is what we are up against…. do we know who tried to injure someone at the camp? Can we prove it? nope. but whoever did it is a coward. and a dangerous one. whoever you, you have the right to hate us but not to hurt us.

One thing WE DO KNOW…it is our Right to Ride. and Ride we will despite any and all aggression and threats of litigation.

Trail cams are cheap. I purchased some for $90 each and got $20 rebates on them. I would be willing to buy one for this and donate it to the cause. I will even buy the memory card for it if someone could place it and review the contents from time to time. What do you think?

What ever happened with this issue?  Did trail cam get placed?  Did it catch the cowards?

Amazing that people can act this way, in this day and age.
