Have you used this product? If yes, would you recommend it? Why? Why not?

For off-road or traveling between urban centers where cellular service is not available…

One of my Off-road Club colleagues likes his and just contacted SPOT and they're saying that Gen3 has a lot of kinks worked out and is performing well.

I think mine is the second generation. I have never had any issues with it.

I mainly use to message my location to family. I have never had to use SOS.

I had a first gen and it worked very well. It should work as advertised. I would buy one again.
